Long Hair (For Guys)

Last last Saturday, I asked my ustat:
  1. Does Islam allow long hair?
  2. What are Islam views on people with long hair?
And I got the answer and here is it.

It is generally allowed for a guy to have long hair. Keeping long hair is not a sunnah. Neither is short hair. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded that "whoever has hair, let him take care of it." So its okay to keep long hair as long as you to take care of your hair.
  • To youths that want to keep long hair, know that taking care of your hair means not making your parents or the society feel angry that you have long hair. For example, if your mom don't like you having long hair and wants you to cut it, go cut it. If not, your hair becomes a sin as it makes your mom angry. Having hair is not a sin, so don't make it a sin. Get my point?
Another point to take note is Allah would curse men who resemble women and curse women who resemble men. This is super important. Keeping long hair is okay but not until it looks like a woman. So if anyone says "Eh, your hair like girl" or " Eh, girl ", time to cut.
  • A friend asked me about wearing hair band and tied hair. My opinion is that wearing it at home, where your parent tells you to tie hair or wear cekak so that your hair will look more organised, is okay. However, when the society thinks that wearing a cekak or tied hair is for females, then don't wear hair band/cekak or tie hair outside.
To summarize, if you want to keep long hair, takecare of your hair and don't look like a woman.

It is better off with short hair I guess. But, I'm not gonna cut my hair. :D
